Overview
The Government of Lao PDR, with UNICEF support, initiated a Disability Child Grant pilot in Xiengkhouang Province for 400 households with children living with disabilities. 2M Corp was engaged to build an integrated MIS managing the full grant lifecycle.
The system was built on openIMIS with modules for household registration (bulk import, manual entry, and CAPI field registration with automated duplicate detection), enrolment with data cleaning and PSP coordination, and payments with automated payroll, reconciliation, and mobile disbursement tools. The system featured bilingual interfaces (English and Laotian) and interoperability with the existing Mother & Early Childhood Grant system.
2M Corp conducted preliminary analysis and requirements documentation, presented use cases for signoff before development, delivered end-user training to government staff, and provided 6 months of post-implementation support.
Impact
The IMIS enabled efficient management of the disability grant pilot, and its design on openIMIS with built-in scalability and interoperability positions it as a foundation for expanding social protection coverage across Lao PDR.
