Overview
The Gambia Ports Authority needed to digitise container tracking processes at Banjul port, where manual tallying led to delays, data entry errors, and limited real-time visibility into port operations. 2M Corp developed the MTally Android application to replace paper-based container tracking.
The application supports offline data capture for use in areas with limited connectivity within port facilities, with automatic synchronisation when connectivity is restored. Features include container status tracking, vessel assignment, tally sheet generation, and integration with GPA's existing port management system via REST APIs.
The solution was designed for ruggedised use in port environments, with a simplified interface optimised for field operations and barcode/QR code scanning capabilities for container identification.
Impact
MTally eliminated paper-based tallying processes, reduced data entry errors, and provided GPA management with real-time visibility into container movements — improving port logistics efficiency and data accuracy.
